The Salzburger Flaker with gear drive prevents the rollers from spinning. With this flaker also larger seeds like sunflower seeds can be flaked too. No sticking when flaking very oily seeds. Sticking (and spinning of the rollers) occurs very frequently when flaking flax seeds, poppy seeds.
A variety of grains and oily seeds can be flaked with the Salzburger flaker, including oats, wheat, spelt, rye, barley, flax seeds, poppy seeds and sunflower seeds. A variety of spices can be crushed with the Salzburger flaker, including fennels seeds, coriander seeds, caraway seeds and peppercorn.
The rollers are made from nickel-free stainless steel. The surfaces of the rollers are smooth and easy to clean.
The flaker is made from solid beech and includes a container to collect the flakes. A supplied clamp secures the Schnitzer flaker to your table or counter (up to 2-3/16" / 50 mm thick).
